Airpura Tobacco & Smoke Air Purifier — T600 & T700
- Clears smoke gases and odor, 26 lb of activated carbon
- Keeps its strength against heavy smoke, TarBarrier traps tar before the carbon
- HEPA-Barrier stage captures 95% of fine particles down to 1 micron
Tar trapped first, so the carbon lasts. Why that matters
Smoke is really three problems in one: sticky tar, gases and odor, and fine particles. Tar would clog a carbon bed quickly, so a 570 sq in TarBarrier prefilter catches it first. That leaves the 26 lb carbon free to adsorb the gases, with a HEPA-Barrier filter last for particles. The order is why it keeps working under heavy smoke.
It is an air purifier for smoke, gases, and particles; it is not a medical device and does not treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

Recommended pairing
The carbon bed pulls smoke gases and odor out of the air, and it saturates over roughly two years. A genuine replacement carbon filter on hand lets you swap in fresh coconut-shell carbon and hold the unit at full odor-capture strength.

Description
You take more than 20,000 breaths a day, and the air inside your home is the exposure you can most directly control. The Airpura Tobacco & Smoke is engineered for tobacco and combustion smoke.
A dedicated TarBarrier prefilter traps sticky tar and resin before they reach the carbon bed, which adsorbs smoke gases and odor, followed by a HEPA-Barrier stage that captures 95% of airborne particles down to 1 micron. The sequence is what makes it last against smoke. The DLX tier adds carbon capacity for heavier, more persistent loads.
Choose 600 for spaces up to roughly 2,000 square feet, or 700 for up to roughly 2,500. Built in an all-steel housing with no off-gassing plastic, made in Canada, and engineered to run continuously. It anchors the Elevate layer of the Kove stack: the environment you recover in.
Key details
Airpura Tobacco & Smoke Air Purifier (T600 & T700) is a smoke purifier with a TarBarrier prefilter, a carbon bed, and a HEPA-Barrier post filter in a steel housing. The carbon bed holds 26 lb of activated carbon at 3 in deep, the TarBarrier measures 570 sq in, and the 306 sq in HEPA-Barrier captures particles down to 1 micron. Airflow is 560 CFM on the T600 and 635 CFM free-flow on the T700, covering up to 2,000 sq ft. Carbon lasts 2 yr, the TarBarrier 3 to 6 mo, and the HEPA-Barrier 12 mo.
It is built for rooms where the concern is smoke, odors, and pets.
Is this right for you?
You'll get the most from it if
- Smoke is a regular fact of your space, whether someone smokes indoors or it drifts in from outside.
- A garage, balcony, or neighboring unit sends smoke your way on a schedule you cannot control.
- You accept more frequent prefilter changes; heavy smoke is consumable-hungry by nature.
- Smoke settles into every connected room, so whole-floor treatment matches how it spreads.
Maybe look elsewhere if
- Smoke is not a factor for you; the All-Purpose R600 handles everyday air without 3 to 6 month prefilter swaps.
- You want the finest particle capture; true HEPA units like the R600 filter to 0.3 microns versus 1 micron here.

Why it earns a place in the stack. Smoke is the exposure most routines never touch, and this purifier is the Elevate layer's answer: a TarBarrier trapping tar first, a 26 lb carbon bed pulling out gases and odor, then a HEPA-Barrier stage for fine particles. That sequence is what makes it last against smoke, keeping the air you recover in clean night after night.

Our approach
Every product earns its place.
No single thing changes your biology on its own. What matters is the system, and whether each piece earns its place. Here is how a device makes it into Kove.
01
Start with the evidence
Where there is research behind how something works, we read it. We look at the real mechanism a device relies on, like the wavelength, the frequency, or the dose, and whether the evidence holds up. Substance comes before marketing, and we are honest about how strong that evidence is.
02
Separate mechanism from marketing
A claim is not a mechanism. We check a device's real output against its stated one: does the panel emit the 660 and 850nm it advertises, at the irradiance that makes those numbers matter? The marketing language gets set aside. The measurable spec is what we judge.
03
Verify build and dose
Even a good idea does nothing if the hardware is weak. We confirm the output is consistent, the dose is usable in a real daily routine, and the build holds up over years, because a device only helps if it lasts as long as the habit.
04
Held to one standard
What clears every step earns its place in the system, held to the same standard as everything else. That consistency is what you can count on.
