BioMat Mini
- Unwind anywhere, far-infrared amethyst warmth sized for a chair, desk, or travel
- Dial in your comfort with 4 heat levels from 95 to 158 °F
- Rest easy on low EMF, shielding is built into the mat
- Set it and drift, the digital controller includes a timer
Six pounds of crystal, sized for a chair. Why that matters
The BioMat Mini is built like the full-size mats: an electric element under a bed of natural amethyst and black tourmaline that converts heat into far infrared between 6 and 12 microns, warming the body resting on it rather than the air around it. At 20 by 33 inches and about 8 lb, it moves from office chair to suitcase, so the warmth is wherever your day is.
Far infrared warmth is for muscle relaxation and the temporary relief of minor muscle pain. It is not intended to treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Description
The BioMat Mini brings far-infrared amethyst heat into a portable size. Same mechanism as the Pro, far-infrared warmth delivered through an amethyst layer, in a mat small enough for a chair, a desk, or travel. Place it where you sit, or use it on a specific area of the body.
It is the simplest way to add daily radiant warmth to your routine without committing the space of a full mat. Deep, radiant heat designed to help you relax and unwind. Like the Pro, it now includes a germanium waterproof cover. Part of the Restore layer of the Kove stack.
Key details
BioMat Mini is a compact, portable far-infrared mat with an amethyst and tourmaline layer. It measures 20 × 33 in (500 × 850 mm) and weighs about 8 lb (3.6 kg), with about 6 lb of natural amethyst and black tourmaline. Far-infrared output spans 6 to 12 micron. Temperature runs from 95 to 158 °F (35 to 70 °C) over 4 heat levels on a digital controller with a timer. It accepts 120V or 220 to 240V, has built-in EMF shielding, and includes a germanium waterproof cover.
It fits routines built around recovery, relaxation, and circulation.
Specific medical advice should be obtained from a licensed health care practitioner.
Is this right for you?
You'll get the most from it if
- You spend long stretches seated for work and want warmth during the day, not only after it.
- You move rooms or travel often; at 20 by 33 inches and about 8 lb, it packs along easily.
- A knee, a shoulder, or a lower back is the target, not the whole body at once.
- You want the easiest entry into amethyst far-infrared heat, in both space and spend.
Maybe look elsewhere if
- If you want to stretch out fully for end-of-day sessions, the full-size BioMat Pro is the better fit.

Why it earns a place in the stack. The Mini covers the Restore layer for anyone unwilling to give up floor space: the same far-infrared amethyst warmth as the full mat, sized for the chair you already sit in. It is the simplest way to make radiant heat a daily habit rather than a dedicated corner of the room.

All three use the same far-infrared layer over natural amethyst and black tourmaline, at 6 to 12 micron, with a digital controller and built-in EMF shielding. The BioMat Pillow is a non-electrical accessory shaped to support the head and neck during a session.
How it works
Three technologies in one mat.
Far-infrared heat
Deep, gentle warmth that many people find comforting for tired muscles and everyday relaxation.
Negative ions
The tourmaline layer emits negative ions during use, a feature many people look for in an at-home mat.
Amethyst + tourmaline
Not decoration. The heating element never touches you; it sits under a bed of natural amethyst and black tourmaline. Stone spreads heat more evenly than wire, so the surface warms without hot spots, and as the stone warms it re-radiates that heat as far infrared. The crystals are the part that turns electric heat into the warmth the mat is built around.

Choosing between them
A sauna, a mat, or a panel?
All three bring a session into a recovery routine, and plenty of people end up with more than one. They differ less in what they are than in what they ask of you. A mat is something you lie on. A sauna is somewhere you go. A panel is something you sit in front of.
| BioMat | Infrared sauna | Red light panel | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where it lives | Unrolls on a bed, a sofa, or the floor | A dedicated room or cabin, permanently sited | On a stand or a wall, facing you |
| Getting started | Plug it in | Assembly and siting, sometimes an electrician | Stand or mount it, plug it in |
| Warm-up | Switch on around 30 minutes ahead | Preheat before every session | None, it is light rather than heat |
| A typical session | 20 to 60 minutes | About 30 to 45 minutes | 10 to 20 minutes |
| During a session | Lying down, clothed | Sitting upright in high heat | Sitting or standing a set distance away, skin uncovered |
| Your head | Stays cool, breathing room air | In the heat, breathing hot air | Cool, with eyes shielded |
| Afterwards | Get up and carry on | Shower and change | Carry on |
| Repeating it daily | Easy to make a nightly habit | Takes planning | Short enough to slot in anywhere |
| When not in use | Rolls up and stores | Keeps its footprint | Stays on its stand or the wall |
| Travel | The Mini packs away | Stays at home | Smaller panels travel |
This compares the practical shape of each, not their effects. If a cabin suits your space, our infrared saunas are worth a look; if you want light rather than heat, see the red light panels; if the appeal is lying down at the end of the day without any setup, the mat is the easier habit to keep.
What you are paying for
Why this is not a heated mat
Amethyst-topped infrared mats turn up online for a few hundred dollars, and they can look much the same in a photograph. The differences sit in the layers you cannot see, and in what happens after the sale.
Stone, and how much of it
The Pro carries about 18 lb of natural amethyst and black tourmaline over the heating element, built up in seventeen layers so the surface warms evenly rather than in warm spots over the coils. The stone is the part doing the work, so how much of it is in the mat is not a cosmetic detail.
Independently tested shielding
EMF shielding is built into the construction and tested by Intertek, an outside laboratory. On something you lie on for an hour at a time, that testing is worth having on record.
Cleared, not just registered
Two phrases turn up on infrared mat listings. FDA registered means a company has its facility and product on file with the FDA. FDA cleared means the device itself went through a 510(k) review. The professional mat is the second: FDA 510(k) cleared, Class II, under K072534.
Serviced, not replaced
The BioMat has been in production for more than 25 years, and it comes with a three-year limited warranty plus lifetime trade-in and post-warranty repair programs. These mats are built to be repaired and kept, which is the part a cheap mat cannot offer at all.

Our approach
Every product earns its place.
No single thing changes your biology on its own. What matters is the system, and whether each piece earns its place. Here is how a device makes it into Kove.
01
Start with the evidence
Where there is research behind how something works, we read it. We look at the real mechanism a device relies on, like the wavelength, the frequency, or the dose, and whether the evidence holds up. Substance comes before marketing, and we are honest about how strong that evidence is.
02
Separate mechanism from marketing
A claim is not a mechanism. We check a device's real output against its stated one: does the panel emit the 660 and 850nm it advertises, at the irradiance that makes those numbers matter? The marketing language gets set aside. The measurable spec is what we judge.
03
Verify build and dose
Even a good idea does nothing if the hardware is weak. We confirm the output is consistent, the dose is usable in a real daily routine, and the build holds up over years, because a device only helps if it lasts as long as the habit.
04
Held to one standard
What clears every step earns its place in the system, held to the same standard as everything else. That consistency is what you can count on.
