Vielight Vagus: Non Invasive Vagus Nerve Device

The Vielight Vagus is one of the first photobiomodulation based approaches to the vagus nerve, a non invasive way to support the vagus nerve using gentle pulsed near infrared light rather than electrical current or surgery. It is designed to support the brain body and brain gut connection and may support healthy heart rate variability, stress relief, and recovery.

A new approach to the vagus nerve

The vagus nerve helps regulate many of the body's most fundamental functions, and it is the main line of communication between the brain and the gut. Most vagus nerve stimulation has historically meant surgical implants or electrical ear and neck clips, which can be uncomfortable. The Vielight Vagus takes a different path: two bilateral neck modules that rest on either side of the neck, paired with an intranasal applicator, deliver light energy with no gel, no electrical sensation, and no discomfort.

How it works

The Vagus uses a bilateral, 100Hz pulsed near infrared approach designed to target the vagus nerve from both sides of the neck, combined with Vielight's patented intranasal applicator designed to support neuroplasticity. A flexible stainless steel band comfortably fits a range of neck sizes, and the device is powered from a standard outlet, compatible with both 110V and 220V systems.

Using your Vagus

Each session runs 20 minutes, and the general recommendation is once a day, six days a week. Vielight suggests using the device consistently over several weeks. Individual experiences vary, and results are not guaranteed. The device is designed for simple, comfortable home use.

Vielight devices are well tolerated by most people. They are not recommended for anyone with active brain bleeds or a history of seizures. Some users notice mild, temporary effects such as a headache, dizziness, or slight discomfort, which generally subside as the body adjusts.
