Vielight MIP: Multimodal Intranasal Photobiomodulation Device
- Supports brain wellness directly, delivering 810nm near infrared through the nasal channel
- Dial in calm or focus: Alpha 10Hz and Gamma 40Hz modes
- 25-minute sessions, portable and battery operated
- Run two applicators together, two benefits in one session
Four wavelengths, up to two at once. Why that matters
The MIP splits four wavelengths across four separate nasal applicators, 470 nm, 633 nm, 655 nm, and 810 nm, each its own single-wavelength unit. The controller runs up to two at a time, so a session pairs colors rather than blending them. The 810 nm applicator carries two fixed pulse rates, 10 Hz and 40 Hz, set at the hardware level. A full session runs 25 minutes on AA batteries.
The pulse rates are design settings, not claims about brain activity; light supports normal cellular processes and does not treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

Description
The Vielight MIP is the most versatile intranasal photobiomodulation device available today. Through patented engineering, it delivers near infrared and red light energy through the nasal channel to support brain wellness and systemic wellness, in gentle, non invasive sessions you can do at home.
It is portable, lightweight, durable, and battery operated, designed to fit into everyday life rather than interrupt it. Depending on the configuration you choose, the MIP comes with two or four intranasal applicators, and two applicators can be used at the same time so you can combine two benefits in a single session.
Why the nasal channel
The intranasal approach is a direct, efficient way to deliver near infrared energy to the underside of the brain. The olfactory pathway connects to regions associated with memory, and the nearby prefrontal cortex is central to cognitive processes. Delivering light here is the principle behind Vielight's patented design.
How it works: the wavelengths
- 810nm near infrared (LED) supports cognitive function and performance. Alpha mode at 10Hz is oriented toward relaxation and stress relief; Gamma mode at 40Hz toward focus and energization.
- 633nm red (LED) supports systemic wellness and immunity.
- 655nm red (laser) supports systemic wellness and immunity.
- 470nm blue (laser) available only on the four applicator model.
Choosing your configuration
- MIP 633-810 — two applicators, 633nm red LED and 810nm near infrared. Brain wellness and systemic wellness.
- MIP 655-810 — two applicators, 655nm red laser and 810nm near infrared. Brain wellness and systemic wellness, with the red laser diode in place of the LED.
- MIP 470-633-655-810 — four applicators. Combines both red wavelengths and the near infrared, and adds a 470nm blue laser. The only MIP model that includes 470nm.
Individual applicators are also available separately, so you can configure or replace them as your needs change.
Using your MIP
Each session runs 25 minutes. The device can be used from every other day up to six days a week, depending on your goals. Most people notice results over a four to eight week period of consistent use. The red and near infrared applicators are typically used twice daily, morning and evening; the blue applicator once daily, at any time.
What's in the box

- MIP 655-810: two nasal applicators
- MIP 633-810: two nasal applicators
The research behind Vielight
Vielight has over 35 published and ongoing clinical trials behind its technology. The MIP has been used in research contexts including Parkinson's and immunity. This research informs the design, and we share it as context rather than as a promise of outcomes.
Contraindications and use
Vielight devices are well tolerated by most people. They are not recommended for anyone with active brain bleeds or a history of seizures. If you are pregnant, consult your healthcare provider before use. Some users notice mild, temporary effects such as a headache, dizziness, or slight discomfort at the application site, which generally subside as the body adjusts.
General wellness device. Not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease.
Is this right for you?
You'll get the most from it if
- You are often away from outlets; spare AA batteries from any shop keep it running on the road.
- You expect your goals to shift; applicators can be added or replaced later without a new device.
- You are comfortable wearing a small applicator in one nostril for the length of a session.
- You prefer a quiet, seated routine you can keep at home without any headset.
Maybe look elsewhere if
- If you want headset-style transcranial coverage rather than a nasal-only format, look at the Vielight Neuro line.
- If you would rather have one fixed setup with nothing to swap, the X-Plus 4 keeps it to two parts.

Why it earns a place in the stack. Most routines work on the body and leave the head for last. The MIP covers that gap, sending 810nm near infrared up the nasal channel toward the brain, 10Hz to wind down, 40Hz to lock in. Sessions run 25 minutes on battery, so it slots into a morning without rearranging it.

Our approach
Every product earns its place.
No single thing changes your biology on its own. What matters is the system, and whether each piece earns its place. Here is how a device makes it into Kove.
01
Start with the evidence
Where there is research behind how something works, we read it. We look at the real mechanism a device relies on, like the wavelength, the frequency, or the dose, and whether the evidence holds up. Substance comes before marketing, and we are honest about how strong that evidence is.
02
Separate mechanism from marketing
A claim is not a mechanism. We check a device's real output against its stated one: does the panel emit the 660 and 850nm it advertises, at the irradiance that makes those numbers matter? The marketing language gets set aside. The measurable spec is what we judge.
03
Verify build and dose
Even a good idea does nothing if the hardware is weak. We confirm the output is consistent, the dose is usable in a real daily routine, and the build holds up over years, because a device only helps if it lasts as long as the habit.
04
Held to one standard
What clears every step earns its place in the system, held to the same standard as everything else. That consistency is what you can count on.
