  • Red and near infrared light for the scalp, worn like a regular cap
  • Red and near infrared light for the scalp, worn like a regular cap
  • Keep moving during a session, on wall power or the included power bank
  • Five modes, including 10 Hz and 40 Hz pulsed light, from one controller
  • Fits most heads, adjusting from about 19.7 to 31.5 inches
Red and near-infrared, 660 to 940 nm. Why that matters

Red light at 660 nm is absorbed close to the surface of the scalp, while near-infrared at 850 and 940 nm travels further, toward the base of the hair. Lining the inside of a cap with 180 LEDs keeps every one of them a short, fixed distance from the scalp, so the light reaches the whole crown evenly each session and does not depend on how still you sit.

Depths shown are illustrative. Light supports the scalp's normal processes; it does not treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

Description

The TheraCap looks like an ordinary baseball cap, with 180 LEDs lining the inside. They run red light at 660 nm alongside near infrared at 850 and 940 nm, aimed straight at the scalp, and the cap adjusts from about 19.7 to 31.5 inches around, so it sits close over the whole crown.

A handheld controller offers five modes: steady low and high output, light pulsed at 10 Hz or 40 Hz, and a gentle breathing mode. Sessions run 10 to 30 minutes in five minute steps, starting at 20 by default, and the cap switches itself off at the end. Plug it into the wall at home, or into the included power bank and wear it around the house.

Why it earns a place in the stack. Scalp routines ask for consistency over months, and that is hard to keep up if you have to sit still under a device. The TheraCap hides 180 LEDs inside a cap you can wear around the house on a power bank, so a 20 minute session fits into the morning without stopping what you are doing.

Our approach

Every product earns its place.

No single thing changes your biology on its own. What matters is the system, and whether each piece earns its place. Here is how a device makes it into Kove.

01

Start with the evidence

Where there is research behind how something works, we read it. We look at the real mechanism a device relies on, like the wavelength, the frequency, or the dose, and whether the evidence holds up. Substance comes before marketing, and we are honest about how strong that evidence is.

02

Separate mechanism from marketing

A claim is not a mechanism. We check a device's real output against its stated one: does the panel emit the 660 and 850nm it advertises, at the irradiance that makes those numbers matter? The marketing language gets set aside. The measurable spec is what we judge.

03

Verify build and dose

Even a good idea does nothing if the hardware is weak. We confirm the output is consistent, the dose is usable in a real daily routine, and the build holds up over years, because a device only helps if it lasts as long as the habit.

04

Held to one standard

What clears every step earns its place in the system, held to the same standard as everything else. That consistency is what you can count on.
